VKVP upgrades to Renault Trucks Turbo Compound

Felixstowe-based supply chain services provider, VKVP Haulage Ltd, has added the first five new Renault Trucks T480 to its 80-strong mixed fleet. The new T480 6×2 pushers feature Renault Trucks Turbo Compound technology, with the move to a more fuel-efficient model cited as the key reason for the deal.

With cutting-edge Turbo Compound technology, these new Renault Trucks T480s are designed for improved fuel efficiency, marking a key reason behind VKVP’s decision to choose Renault Trucks. The journey started in 2020 when VKVP integrated thirty-three 65-plate 11-litre Renault Trucks T460 6×2 used trucks, supplied by our depot in Felixstowe, paving the way for the latest upgrade.

VKVP Haulage’s new T480s are part of a significant fleet upgrade, delivered by our team at Renault Truck Commercials in Felixstowe, and are the first of an initial order of 22 new vehicles. the vehicles are furnished with our latest DE13 TC engine. This Turbo Compound engine provides notable fuel savings, not compromising on drivability or commercial speed, and contributes to reducing CO2 emissions.

In addition to the engine, our T480s are equipped with the new generation Optidriver gearbox AT2812. It incorporates advanced calculator, control software and clutch actuator for smoother and faster gear changes. To maximise fuel savings, the trucks are fitted with Eco Cruise Control with Optiroll and Smart Torque Control solution, ensuring optimal engine efficiency.

These innovative vehicles will be put into action across the UK, servicing container work out of Felixstowe, London Gateway and Southampton docks. Vladislav cites our customer service as an integral factor in selecting Renault Trucks.
